We are launching a new project—The European Film Festival at MECC.
The European Film Festival was established to utilize the power of film to further the goal of inter-cultural understanding among European nations and to assist in the building of a shared artistic experience.
The European Film Festival plays simultaneously in many venues across Europe. Every year 20 hours of the best of European Cinema (many films are award winners at major film festivals) are selected and sent it to universities and film clubs around Europe on a set of DVD's. This is done free of charge to the university/film club. 8 hours of the programming are general European Cinema, 4 hours are for films from the neighboring countries, 4 hours are for International Cinema and 4 hours are reserved for the cinema of the home country.
So Russian young filmmakers are welcome to screen their films at the EFF in Moscow!
The program includes a film showing and a discussion afterwards (everything is in English of course). The project starts on Wednesday, January 21 at Chekhov Center and ends on March 15th, 2009.
